Goodbye Daylight Savings Time

Well, it finally happened! BC Premiere, David Eby just announced that we will spring forward like usual on March 8 and then never fall back. At least, those are the terms that I used to use to remember which way to turn my clock.

The government of BC has decided to eliminate daylight savings time to “improve people’s overall health, reduce disruptions for families, simplify scheduling and provide an extra hour of evening light during the winter months.” (news.gov.bc.ca)

What does this mean for you as a hunter? No more missing first light that one day in November because the clock on your phone changed and you slept in. Practically speaking, it means that we won’t have to wake up an extra hour early just when first light was starting to become a leisurely hour to rise and shine. It also means you’ll still have a decent chance to get out after work for a quickie before the sun sets!

Goodbye daylight savings time. I’m sure you served someone well, but nobody I knew!
