MAN CHARGED WITH DEER SEX CRIMES

On the evening of February 21, a driver traveling along Phillip Stone Way in Central City, Kentucky, phoned 911 after allegedly seeing a man engaged in a sexual act with a dead deer on the roadside. Responding officers with the Central City Police Department arrived shortly after the call and encountered a man near the reported location. According to police reports cited by multiple outlets, the individual had blood on his hands and his pants were down around his knees. Officers further noted what they described as an unknown fluid in his facial hair, deer hair on the lower portion of his sweatshirt, and blood on his undergarments.

The man was identified as 32‑year‑old Allen Lynne Osborne of Owensboro, Kentucky. Within roughly half an hour of the initial 911 call, he was taken into custody and transported to the Muhlenberg County Jail. Once at the jail, authorities reported finding both blood and deer hair on his genital area.

Central City Police Chief Jason Lindsey, speaking with Oxygen, remarked that in more than two decades in law enforcement he had never encountered a case like this. Osborne has been charged under Kentucky law with a felony count related to sexual offenses involving animals. Court records referenced by outlets including The Independent indicate that his bond was set at $5,000 and that he has entered a not‑guilty plea. If found guilty, he could face a potential prison term ranging from one to five years.

Hunters and wildlife enthusiasts may be accustomed to preserving legally harvested animals through taxidermy, but this incident stands in stark contrast to any accepted practice. Whatever one’s views on hunting or roadkill salvage, using the remains of an animal in this manner violates both legal standards and basic respect for wildlife, living or dead.
